Adam's Rib is a 1949 American romantic comedy film directed by George Cukor. It stars Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn as lawyers whose marriage is disrupted when they work on opposing sides of the same case.

  • 7:30 a.m.7:31 a.m. Amanda Bonner (Katharine Hepburn) opens the curtains and wakes up her husband Adam (Spencer Tracy), telling him it's 7:30. A clock on their nightstand shows the time. She brings him breakfast.
  • 4:59 p.m. Doris Attinger (Judy Holliday) checks her wristwatch.
  • 5:00 p.m. A digital clock on a city street changes from 4:59 to 5:00.
  • 7:40 p.m. Amanda and the maid Mary (Janna DeLoos) fix up the dinner table. Adam comes home, and Amanda is upset with him for arriving at 20 minutes until 8:00.
  • 10:35 p.m. Amanda looks at a wall clock and sits on the staircase. Adam comes home, and she greets him.
